L'irish coffee, creato da Joseph Sheridan, un barman irlandese, è nato dal bisogno di riscaldare i passeggeri dei giganteschi idrovolanti che transitavano a Foynes in Irlanda durante i voli transatlantici che collegavano l’Europa agli Stati Uniti serviva un cocktail forte e cremoso.
Per recuperare questa deliziosa sensazione leggermente cipriata, Cherigan ha associato la delicatezza della fava tonka a quella dell’iris su un letto di caffè.
Per riscaldare i passeggeri sui voli transatlantici, Joseph Sheridan, proprietario di un caffè irlandese, creò negli anni '30 una bevanda calda e tonificante: l'Irish coffee .
La fragranza ricorda quel momento in cui il viaggiatore trova un conforto stimolante. La freschezza del bergamotto e del cardamomo lascia il posto a una sensazione potente, tra amarezza e dolcezza, trascritta da note di caffè, tonka, iris e gelsomino. Un sorso dolce e ardente.
